What Is The Deadline To File a Personal Injury Case in Georgia?

Each state has deadlines to file a claim for personal injury cases. In general, in Georgia you have two years to file a personal injury lawsuit in most cases. Georgia Code section 9-3-33 says: "Actions for injuries to the person shall be brought within two years after the right of action accrues." However, this deadline does not apply to everyone or every case. Some claimants and some cases have longer deadlines, and some have shorter filing deadlines.
